Restore Volume and Enhance Your Features
Lip augmentation
Filler is injected in to the lips creatively to improve volume and the shape of the lips as well as redefining the lip line. While younger people may choose dermal fillers for plumping, they are also popular among the older age groups for correction, definition and shape. It all comes down to your unique lips and what’s right for them.
Cheek augmentation
Cheek filler can help to improve the volume of the area adjacent to and around your cheekbones (improving the projection of the cheekbone and refill the ‘apples of the cheek’. This provides the illusion of a more defined bone structure and a younger healthier glow. By injecting volume under your skin layer, cheek fillers can also smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. They can also help to improve nasolabial lines by volumising and lifting the sunken areas of the cheek which in turn improves these lines

Marionette lines
These wrinkles are at the corners of your mouth that can sometimes give you a ‘sad’ appearance. These lines are the result of ageing and other causes. You can decrease marionette lines and create a more youthful appearance with strategically placed fillers
Nasolabial folds
These are the indentation lines on either side of the mouth that extend from the edge of the nose to the mouth’s outer corners. With thin linear threads of filler in these areas greatly improve the look of these lines giving a refreshed appearance or a small amount of filler in the piriform fossa (small hollow triangle shape adjacent to the nose flares) can also be used in isolation to improve the appearance of these lines.
Chin
An under formed or weak chin can be genetic and can pitch into a patient’s overall confidence. Dermal filler can be used on the chin to stiffen the skin and define the chin and jowl area. Chin filler can lengthen and enhance ones lower facial appearance creating a more balanced profile

Frequently Asked Questions about Dermal Fillers
Are dermal fillers long-lasting?
All the dermal fillers used at Lianne Powell Aesthetics are semi-long lasting and made from hyaluronic acid, which breaks down and is absorbed into the skin after around 6 to 18 months.
Do dermal fillers hurt?
Before any dermal filler treatment Lianne will apply numbing cream to the area to be treated to take away that first sting. Many people find their procedure more comfortable than expected, and most dermal fillers contain a local anaesthetic. Lianne comes ready prepared with stress balls, cooling ice packs, and other distracting techniques to put you at complete ease and to make your treatment as pleasant an experience as we can, which breaks down and is absorbed into the skin after around 6 to 18 months.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Dermal fillers are safe treatments when administered by an experienced and medically qualified practitioner. However, as with any medical substances/injectable they do come with a range of side effects including: skin rashes, redness, bruising, itching and swelling. And other rare side effects as mentioned above.
If filler is injected into a blood vessel this can reduce the blood supply to the skin. This presents with pain and discolouration. You should always be comfortable and pain free at the end of your appointment so please inform Lianne if this is not the case.
Lianne has been fully trained in dealing with every eventuality if they were to occur, and her clinic is fully equipped with emergency medications to reverse vascular occlusions and to treat allergic reactions/anaphylaxis. So rest assured you are in safe hands. 13 years working in an emergency department has taught Lianne to work well and remain calm in these situations (although extremely rare)
Will I still look myself?
Yes! Our scientific approach respects your natural anatomy and expressions, resulting in a natural look that’s true to you. Lianne will make sure she talks through your desired effect, and will guide and advise on what is best for the natural look you are looking to achieve.
What are the potential side effects of HA dermal filler injections?
In most cases, side effects are mild and include common manifestations:
- Pain at the point of injection, tenderness,
- redness/erythema,
- bruising/haematomas,
- swelling/oedema,
- lumpiness
- itching
- asymmetry
Less common manifestations can sometimes occur:
- inflammatory reactions, infection (including localised or generalised infection and abscesses), loss of sensitivity around the injected area or temporary paraesthesia,
- risk of allergy (including hypersensitivity, dermatitis allergy, urticaria),
- nodules (possibly granulomas),
- Herpes outbreak (if previous history)
- implant migration.
Rare but serious adverse events associated with the intravascular injection of soft tissue fillers in the face could lead to
- embolization,
- occlusion of the vessels
- temporary or permanent vision impairment (including blindness),
- cerebral ischemia / hemorrhage leading to stroke, infarction.
What dermal fillers can’t do
Minimally invasive rejuvenation treatments, such as soft tissue fillers, cannot achieve the same results as a surgical face lift, eye lift and/or a brow lift but may help delay the time when consideration of a facelift becomes appropriate.
It is important to remember that dermal fillers are temporary treatments for facial ageing and that ongoing treatments will be needed for long-term results. During your consultation Lianne will discuss and talk through your ideas, any concerns you may have and realistic expectations. Our aim is to give you a refreshed, new confidence and ultimately to enhance your natural beauty.
